Question by I luv my baby boy!: Can you file for unemployment while on unpaid maternity leave?

My employer says I’m technically unemployed while on unpaid maternity leave. I’m not offered any benefits under FMLA because we have a company with less than 50 employees. So my question is would I qualify for unemployment benefits?

NO. You cannot. This is considered FRAUD in most states. However, you might still be able to receive food stamps and other economic aid.

wow .. if you get pregnant with in 1 week you are a very lucky person.. and theres no signs that show up that early.. they start showing after 1 month or so

I have found some really good deals online for Maternity clothes but I have no clue what the sizing chart is for maternity clothes. Can someone educate me a little on how the sizing works?

normally you would .buy the same size that you are as the maternity clothes have extra room around the boobs and tummy, but the best clothes to go for are lycra based or stretchy clothes so that they grow with you. if you are buying rigid clothes like shirts or then buy one size bigger unless they have a fastener inside that you can take in or release. trousers you can buy the same size just depends on wether you want the waiste to cover the bump or go below the bump…i prefered below the bump as the ones that covered my bump irritated my stretch marks in late pregnancy.

I am on maternity leave which I get no pay for. I also have 2 other children in my home. (We live in Colorado.) Does anyone know if there are any government programs that assist with such a case?

Unless your state has disability, no. You cannot collect unemployment unless you lost your job before you went on maternity leave.

I don’t know about their maternity shots, but I know that they have always done an absolute wonderful job with taking pics of my daughter. And if you don’t like what they do then you don’t have to buy any, all you would have to do is pay the sitting fee. But sometimes they have coupons that waive that fee on their web site.
